As you all know, we have great schools that are working well for our children. While we all have different reasons for selecting our virtual school, we share a common goal: We want our children to get the best education possible.
Our coalition will work together to keep this choice available to our children and to other families who are looking for new options in public education. We want Colorado's policymakers to see and understand how virtual schools work, why we selected them, and why they should remain a permanent part of the public education system in Colorado.
Despite the successes of our schools, there are detractors who want to make changes that have a negative impact on our efforts, including taking funding that's for students and investing it in a new and unnecessary bureaucracy. That's wrong, and you can help stop it from happening.
Together, we can educate policy makers on the value and importance of online education for our families. We will clear up any misunderstanding about online education and put down many of the myths that many detractors use to cast a shadow on virtual learning.
We are the keys to keeping our schools alive and strong.
Sincerely,
Lori Cooney President Colorado Coalition of Cyberschool Families
